Anyone got a teasmade/tea/coffee maker on their bedside table?

I’m after a teasmade but I can only find one type which is the Swan make and the reviews aren’t great.
I’ve tried using our tassimo machine but the water doesn’t get hot enough to brew the tea properly. I like HOT tea - not luke warm!
Does anyone have a teasmade? Does it make it hot enough? Or any other solutions (don’t suggest I get my arse out of bed and make it myself!)

What about something like this? Just put the cup underneath it push the button and that's it. They're good and auto stop once the cup is filled

I agree with previous poster, exactly what a DH is for, brings me tea & toast in bed every morning 😇

We used one for years (a swan one) and it was ugly as fuck but worked great. Was quite nice to be gradually woken by the kettle and the gurglings.

I had a teasmade for years, it does properly boil the water. It’s noisy but then it is an alarm clock.
I’d go for a one-cup rather than a kettle otherwise.

I just have a kettle, tea bags in a nice tin . I freeze individual cubes of milk in ice cube tray and they de frost overnight.. simple. You could also use dried milk if you like it.
Those individual plastic pods of milk are not very enviomentally friendly..

Have a mini fridge to keep next days milk cool. Also room for snacks ( chocolate)

I'm with the PP, I thought this was why we got married and had children. I no longer make tea, there's usually someone up before me.

I clearly got the wrong brand Shock. Mine has many other uses, admittedly, but it's almost invariably me that gets up and makes the tea - I'm always up first!

I have a small flask of boiling water and add uht milk in morning. Its fab

ElephantInPrint · 06/01/2022 08:17

I set up a mini tea station in my Husband's office which is next to our bedroom. Two cups, a travel kettle, small pot of teabags, teaspoon and a little jug for milk. I often use UHT milk too. On a slim tea serving tray.

We live in a 3 storey house so tea in bed was a faff (I know!) before I set it up.

I loved looking at the one my grandmother had in the 1970s - I thought it was amazing!!!

@PullingAtTeeth

For those of you that have a husband to get up before you and make you a hot cup of tea… Please could you advise me where to find an excellent quality one? I do have an old one but I’ve had him a long time, he’s certainly out of the warranty period anyway. In the early days I was sometimes able to get a hot drink out of him first thing in a morning but I think some of the mechanics have seized inside now and even with much poking, shaking and sometimes a good kick the husband simply rolls over and goes back to sleep.
Oh - I really like your style! Could you send him to a repair shop?
fruitpastille · 06/01/2022 08:52

I've recently put a kettle in my (attic) bedroom for morning tea. It is an ugly but cheap tesco value one that we have had spare for years! I just take a mug with a splash of proper milk and sugar up with me at bedtime - it's fine overnight. Add the teabag and boiled water in the morning. Saves me walking down and up 2 flights of stairs. If I'm still doing it in 6 months time I might buy a more beautiful kettle!

devildeepbluesea · 06/01/2022 08:55

Get a hot water dispenser
. I have one on my bedside table, wouldn't be without it. Dispenses a mugful of boiling water in about 30 seconds
It's a bit noisy, but that's a small price to pay for 2 mugs of coffee before my feet touch the floor.

JustJam4Tea · 06/01/2022 08:56

@PullingAtTeeth I th8nk they need replaced every so often, I’m considering husband 2.0 but 8 understand that can cause problems too.

Seasidemumma77 · 06/01/2022 08:57

I've got a Coffee To Go from Aldi, even has a timer

Caspianberg · 06/01/2022 08:59

You just need a hot water dispenser

caso-design.de/en/hot-water-dispenser/ - get one of these. We have the bigger one in kitchen. But come in various options. You can choose the water temperature also so different temperature for herbal teas or baby bottles

whyohwhyohwhyohwhywhy · 06/01/2022 20:17

We had a teasmade as I grew up with one. We got rid of it quickly as it didn't boil the water properly and was quite a faff of washing up the teapot etc.

We have a onecup downstairs now same as the picture upthredd. I was just musing getting one for upstairs just now while I was in the bath.
