fingerprint smudges on wall... grrr

This'll sound really basic but we've only ever had wallpaper until recently!

Our hallway has been plastered and nicely painted a couple of months ago. My 5 yo nephew has left a few finger smudges on the wall... I'm sure there's a quick fix, my DH is going nuts - don't worry I've already told him to chill!

How can we get rid of the smudges without damaging the paint? Warm soapy water?

try an eraser

If an eraser doesn't work, swabbing with alcohol does.

always find a small squirt of sugarsoap does the trick for finger marks on walls

I've found those Flash sponges are great. They get loads of marks off the walls like finger prints, felt tip, crayon. I think it's called a Flash Mark and Stain Remover but they are really difficult to find in the shops
