Vanish Carpet Cleaner Powder out if date - advice?

Hope you all had a lovely Xmas!
I discovered a couple of bags of vanish powder when doing a ore Christmas clean. The date on them is 2016. They're unopened.
Should I use?

Nothing drastic will happen to your carpet if you use a carpet cleaner a few months after its expiry date. However, if it reaches six months or a year after expiry, it's best to discard it and head out to buy a new one. ... Thanks for replying. I emailed vanish customer support, they said not to use if it's 2 years post aell by date. So it's binned.
So much for buying things in special offer then not using them! It'll be on offer again soon due to time of year presumably.
