Is it your first DC? Can you put some obvious simple toys/rattles away for if you have another?

Between 1-2 they like balls, books, shape sorters, stacking blocks etc. So keep those toys around. Can you put some in a plastic box to rotate? A lot of the 1-3year old toys tend to be single bigger items to ride on or push around.

From 1 onwards we always had a small back pack that lived in the car with some small plastic figures, board books etc that kept DC occupied if we went for coffee/meal out.

Can any toys be kept as bath toys?

You can put some toys to the charity shop for another child to enjoy.
