Mission

TheMincePiedMadHouse · 19/12/2007 09:11

Hello everyone

I Have another busy day today

I have done most of my morning routine, but also have the following

Wait for Sky Man to come anytime before 2.30
Post two parcels
Chrostmas Pressies to Best friend who broke her back
Mission and yesterdays mission
Visit mardy ar$e mum
Start Emptying drawers in Bedroom for our new to us furniture coming on friday (friend collecting ours Thursday evening)

So all in all a busy day.

Mum is still seeing her bum. She put the phone down on me twice yesterday and told my aunty that me and bro do nothing for her and that she is in so much pain and no one cares for her and that she can not cope with the boys at the moment.

So plan is to ring after sky man has been, tell her I am coming with boys and that MIL still has S&D so no chance of having them, does she need or want anything from shops and just go. Bloody woman it is my birthday tomorrow, not that it matters I have not had a card for the last 6 years ho hum. At least I have the boys and I am determined not to repeat the mistakes she made

TMH what a nightmare. You are so good to keep putting up with her. Think I would have given up years ago tbh.

Jen glad you found me

Got a fair bit to do today. Will sort out my list in a bit. Not doing weekly shop today as still have loads of pre-cooked meals in the freezer to use up. dd2 got her riding lesson this afternoon (she will freeze her socks off) and dd3 and dd4 will be having their dancing lessons later this afternoon. Busy, busy, busy!

Have a lovely day everyone.

Oh and I need to exonerate Bianca She was found not guilty of sending the spoof mail thing

EHM · 19/12/2007 09:24

quickly just heading out of the door, I have my coat on. Will catch up later.x.

gibberish · 19/12/2007 09:24

Bye ehm Have a good day! Don't slip on the ice!

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 19/12/2007 09:49

Morning Jas TMH Gibberish and the fleeting EHM TMH It's awful when you do stuff and get it in the neck for you. Just plough through with a sense of smug pride that you know you have done the right thing. BTW HR can be hopeless. I suggest getting your union behind you.

EHM We get a real tree every year and we don't do the decorating until sunset on 24/12 at DH's behest, He wants to maintain it as a 'family tradition'. I let him know he has several such traditions (Dw does the housework/gardening for example, DW sources the tree, gets the firewood etc etc)) so can we change that one please. Nevermind huh

Nursery asked me if I could have Molly and Dolly, the Guinea pigs, to stay for Xmas. I was up for it (big kid in me) but DH said 'No'. Suppose as we have a small cold house with 3 cats, he is right and I was fretful enough about Patch and Austin et al, so they would be better somewhere else really.

Done my morning routines and emptied the WM and organised to dry. I have to pop downtown before Friday morning to get some last min stuff. Taking Ed to school, my legs started to seize up, I think it's cos I've put a frock on. So I could bomb round now or sit and take it steady for a bit.

so I'll be back soon. TTFN

ludaloveschristmas · 19/12/2007 10:53

Good Morning All

Madhouse you really are a trooper! I think even I would be pushed to the limits with a mother like yours!

Hi to EHM, GO, Gibberish & Shanna

I am waiting for the postman this morning, my brother has gone to Centre Parcs for xmas, and asked me to keep an eye out for a package!!! He phoned me on Sunday out of the blue...first time he has phoned me all year! He apologised for forgetting my b'day, and all the kids b'days and said he didn't want to mess xmas up too he must be ill me thinks....

Well my little boy is at big school ALL day today...I left him wailing, and trying to scramble away from the teacher to follow me out the school.. It really gets me down, but it gets me sooo cross too, and I have to try not to get cross with him...it really is silly, but then I remember as a child I hated leaving my dad, and I can remember the feeling in the pit of my stomach even today, so I do try and be as sympathetic as I can...I remember going to France with a friend when I was about 11, and I cried everyday, for a whole week because I was home sick!...awful feeling

Anyway...I have bits and bobs to do today, tidying, wrapping (I am going to a friends house this afternoon, to wrap all the children's pressies for the toddler group's xmas party tomorrow) I have stocking fillers to wrap, and bedrooms to tidy too.

Tomorrow is xmas party and xmas food shopping day...so must get on top of the house today as I won't be in much tomorrow.

gibberish · 19/12/2007 11:14

luda it must be awful for you both. Have you ever thought about HEing? I know it isn't for everyone though.

Sounds like your bro is trying to make amends!

Have had my shower. It's a start... No riding lesson or dance lessons today after all!! Going to have a very quiet Wednesday for once. Although we forgot that dd1 has a checkup at the orthodentist at 12 so need to get ready to get into town. Drat.

ludaloveschristmas · 19/12/2007 11:39

Never considered HE TBH, I had hoped he would get used to being left. I will see how he goes in January when he has to go full time, and see if he does settle.
He is with his sister and sits on her table, and all his friends are in the same class, so I thought he would be ok...we'll have to see.

Well no sign of the postie! How late is he!!! Always the same isn't it, when you are waiting for him to come, he is late.

Off to hoover upstairs...

BiancaCastafiore · 19/12/2007 11:59

Morning all

TMH I admire you so much for sticking at it with your mum, you do such a great job dealing with it all.
Gibberish thank you
Grouchy Hope you're taking it easy
Luda poor you, it must be so hard to leave ds in such a state x It sounds as though your bro is trying to make up for not being good at keeping in touch. Look out for a parcel from me too
EHM, Shanna Hello

I've been into school to watch ds in his Christmas show - he was a lamb and they were all very cute (I shed more than a few tears)
I stayed on and helped lay out all the tables as the school have thier Christmas lunch today...I think they may have been expecting me to stay but I really needed a quick hour at home before ds comes out of school again at 1 so I sloped off while I had the chance. Hope they don't mind.

Need to get a few bits and pieces done now before ds needs collecting. I'll be back later x

ludaloveschristmas · 19/12/2007 12:24

Aw how lovely luda

You're welcome bianca. Feel free to falsely accuse me of anything you like in return

My girls are jumping up and down like loonies in wild excitement atm. Have just got back from Morrisons and brought them chocolate Ready Brek You'd think I had bought each of them a laptop or something!! And, for a treat, got them super noodles for lunch (I know, I know) and dd2 announced this was her happiest day ever lol. Poor kids.

JingleyJen · 19/12/2007 13:18

Afternoon everyone

Have had a nice morning but unproductive. Went to Advent prayer group and talked about something other than children & Christmas shopping.

DS1 had his last morning at school until the new year so have planned some fun crafty things to do the next couple of days.

Still have to tackle the european ironing mountain that has built up - DS1 had the runs so much yesterday that he asked if he could wear a nappy again (I said no)

Bianca your little lamb sounds so sweet glad it all went well
TMH you are a star putting up with your mum - it frightens the hell out of me that we are all supposed to turn into our mothers - I have given Dh permission to shoot me if I do
Gibber funny how they are excited by little things - DS1 had frosties at Mums house at the weekend he was beside himself with glee!
how are you getting on with that LONG list grouchy ?
Luda golly sounds like your brother has come up trumps this year!
forgot to ask TMH you doing anything special for your birthday?

Ruby what a great idea - we are at Mums this Christmas and DS1 couldn't work out how FC would know where to bring the pressies.....
Can I borrow it?

TheMincePiedMadHouse · 19/12/2007 14:01

Afternoon all

I am having an eventfuly day - Mum is back in Hospital, I made my brother take her, as MIL is out and she did not want me their with the children.

Sky man has only just turned up - he got his van stuck on a grass verge - he he he

DS1 pored all the cherios and four pints of milk all over the floor this morning, when I told him he had enough (porridge for breakfast and 2 bowls of cherrios at 10.30 beacuse he wasd hungry)

Jen I am going to do the shopping and then meet a friend for a pizza with DS2 tomorrow, that is if not visiting mum.

GO Take it easy

Luda Wow a cheque

Ruby Def do not want to go back to old job (Facilities Manager), quite fancy just doing admin or something two days a week from home. I could not cope with being away from home, as I looked after nothern Europe and TBH I have not worked since DS1, as had DS2 and went from one maternity leave to another

waves to everyone else

OP posts:
ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 19/12/2007 14:02

Went to town, picked up the stray gift, stuff for a family lunch, porridge oats (forgotten yesterday) and a bottle of tawny port for me (a guilty xmas tipple). Really happy as I got my hands on the only Pixar Diecast Cars cars we didn't have (Darrel Cartrip if your interested) so Ed will have a full set come Xmas day.

Got home and...My mother came round eee gods and little fishes! I won't inflict my life history on you but I found it most uncomfortable. Please she's gone. I now know to approach it in the same way as a smear test. It's something you don't like, don't look forwards to, but you have to do it, get it over and done with and don't want to hear anything else til thye next time. TMH I know how you feel, believe me. Dear God I don't ^ever want to end up like that ever. What a stinky attitude to life

So I recovered by making lunch, scoffing it and looking at the new job app I have to complete. DH is entertaining Ed so I'll use the spare time constructivley.

Deep cleansing breaths

Hello all

ruby what a lovely idea!!!! Your kids are very lucky to have such a thoughtful and organised santa!

Ok...Just wondering, does anyone have any nice food ideas for xmas day?
I'm on a budget, no one will eat turkey...or chicken...or much veg, so I was thinking of doing a buffet style meal, so everyone will get something they enjoy.
I'm at a bit of a loss ideas wise though....anyone got any favorite buffet style things, that are cheap to make, and tasty??

(don't ask a lot do I!)

TheMincePiedMadHouse · 19/12/2007 15:34

Luda Can not help on that one I am afriad, as we are turkey and veg lovers, but on Christmas eve we have a picky thing ie chicken bits, fish gougons, poatoes wedges, dips, garlic dough balls and stuff.

Ruby I worked for the third largest software company, but they outsourced my department whilst I was on maternity leave and the new company only has 16 staff in the UK, so I hopw that they can come up with a solution to keep all my years of experiance. I was very good at my job, but want to concentrate on the children, therefore, if they can find me sometjing it would be great, as they would not be a gap on CV.

Re children - I m/c in August (DD 21 Jan) and we found it very painful, so decided to be happy with our wonderful boys, so no more for me and if I am positive with the gene ovaries are coming out anyway

Job app completed, I'll post it tomorrow

DH is developuing a HUGE list of things for me to do tomorrow AM I'll look forwards to that NOT

Tomorrow it is the last time I'll be taking Ed to Nursery. He's had 4 terms there and he's come on a treat. I'll miss the staff, they have been very good and supportive. Time moves on and I'll try not to blub like a baby

Right, add to my list for tomorrow (oh Joy)
