Where does the bath mat go?

Is yours always on the floor, or propped up on the side of the bath until it's needed?

Do you even have one at all? Xmas Shock

Always on the floor, unless it gets very wet in which case it’s hung up until dry.

Comedycook · 10/12/2021 16:22

Always on the floor unless it's wet or I'm cleaning the bathroom floor...the it's hung on the dryer or over the side of the bath.

Ps...the excitement of this thread will be off the chart WinkGrin

Comedycook · 10/12/2021 16:23

Sorry I thought this was in aibu ..just saw it's housekeeping....Grin. In which case, it's not a dull topic!

Phrenologistsfinger · 10/12/2021 16:24

On the side of bath unless in use.

LittleBearPad · 10/12/2021 16:26

Side of the bath. It’s like a thicker towel so it’s folded over the side.

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 10/12/2021 16:26

Usually over the side of the bath, which I hate, but needs must (and it needs to be there as it gets soaked - long boring story)

If the 'issue' was solved I'd get a new bath mat designed to stay in the floor.

NecklessMumster · 10/12/2021 16:27

On side of bath or on heated towel rail and when DS's are here they get them sodden after each use. I've even stood in the bath (clothed) to demonstrate how to get out of a bath without making the bathmat soaking wet

JaninaDuszejko · 10/12/2021 16:28

Over the top of the shower or on the towel rail or on the side of the bath. It's never left on the floor, that would be far too much of a trip hazard and with 3DC it would be permanently damp.

IAmHereForTheFood · 10/12/2021 16:29

On the floor, it gets lifted to hang over the bath when I clean the floor midweek then, at the end of the week, it goes in the laundry basket.
I clean the floor again and then a new one goes down.

itwasntaparty · 10/12/2021 16:31

Over the shower door to dry

FedUpFelicia · 10/12/2021 16:40

Comedycook

LOL I almost put this into AIBU!

Airing cupboard to dry. Don't they get all stale if you leave them on the floor?

mathanxiety · 10/12/2021 16:45

Draped over the shower curtain rail so it has a chance to dry out.

steppemum · 10/12/2021 16:49

lifted and draped over side of the bath, so that it dries. It never dries on the floor.

if very wet the kids might get as far as draping it over the radiator. Our bathroom one is never that wet.

AliceMcK · 10/12/2021 16:54

Over the bath or on the heated towel rail, unless you my DH or DCs then it’s left sopping wet on the floor.

Clevs · 10/12/2021 16:55

We don't have one!

Pegasussnail · 10/12/2021 16:55

We don't have one. I put an old clean towel down instead then I leave it to dry or wash it.

Ellen888 · 10/12/2021 16:56

Side of bath.

Cynderella · 10/12/2021 23:41

Side of bath - gave up on this long ago and now have hotel style mats that get chucked in for washing every day or two.

Stillamum3 · 11/12/2021 00:00

I purposely made a rail for the bathmat on the back of the bathroom door. It hangs there when not in use.

SmallProvincial · 11/12/2021 00:03

Over th aide of the bath if it's me.

Over the top of the shower cubicle if it's DH.

On the radiator if it's particularly soggy.

RampantIvy · 11/12/2021 00:05

Over the shower rail

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 11/12/2021 00:08

We have a duckboard and it stays on the floor.

FreeButtonBee · 11/12/2021 00:24

How exciting. I have such opinions

I have recently bought the very nice ikea bobbly microfibre bath mats. Awesome. Fast drying. They live on the floor unless it’s kids bath day when they get soaked, in which case they get slung over the side of the bath to dry faster

Mucho recommendo

FreeButtonBee · 11/12/2021 00:25

But still change it twice a week cos yuck
