Help! How to get paint off coat!

I stupidly brushed the door frame with my arm trying to get DS in the house in his car seat. The door frame was painted this morning and I now have a white streak down my arm. I scrubbed it straight away with water and washing up liquid as advised by Google but no luck! Does anyone have a magic solution?? Thanks!

I did the same and wet wipes worked for me.

What type of paint was it?

itwasntaparty · 13/12/2021 16:01

What sort of paint and what fabric?

Gloss on a doorframe, and it's a quilted coat. I think it's buggered ☹️

If you think it's buggered then it's worth trying turpentine...it will get the paint off but smell.awful. So clean the paint off then put it in the washing machine

White spirit will do the job on gloss, it will stink though, so put straight in washing machine, nothing to lose really, I hope it works out ok for you.

Yes, turpentine will work. Be careful not to smear the paint out though, you’ll need to dab rather than wipe IYSWIM.

After it’s been in the washing machine it’ll need to be tumble dried (on low) or it’ll be all clumpy and horrid.
