Grease stain on cashmere - help

User1055 · 06/12/2021 20:52

I have, what appears to be a grease stain on my favourite pale grey cashmere jumper. I don't know what it specifically is and it could have been there a while.
I've hand washed it in Woolite, like I usually do with my cashmere, but it hasn't come out. Sad.
My usual go-to grease stain remover says not to use it on wool. Is there any hope? Thank you

Washing up liquid is an excellent degreaser and very Gentle once diluted in warm water. I would try that, and with grease you can't just soak if you need to blot the grease off as well, so I would wet the stain with warm water mixed with washing up liquid, then use an old towel to blot it until it's no longer wet, then use kitchen roll to lift the rest of the stain off

I agree. Fairy liquid dabbed on the stain and left to soak in for ten minutes and then wash as usual.

I done this recently, immediately put fairy liquid on it, let it soak in for a few min and then washed it in the machine with some vanish in it and it came out good as new. Good luck!
