How ruthless do you be when having a pre-christmas clear out?

I have just filled a black bin liner from ds's room that he never plays with to be given to charity & another bag with toys with bits broken off, missing etc...

I have a bag full of blocks that I have put out for charity, there's nothing wrong with them, but he's getting a tub of big blocks for C'mas... should I still have kept them though?

I feel a bit bad now looking at the 3 half empty tubs of toys in his room....

I still have dd's room to do, but she doesn't seem to have accumulated much stuff despite being 3 years older than ds!!

What do you throw/give to charity & do you be absolutely ruthless?

If he never plays with them, then there is no point in keeping them (unless there might be a no. 3?). Why is he getting more blocks for Christmas when he's already got some? My DS's have a lot of duplo, but even when they get more, I just add to the collection so 'I' they can build bigger and better things.

No, there won't be a No.3.

But the tub of blocks he is getting is huge & I think someone might get some fun out of the bag I have given to charity... Someone may get their child something at the last minute from the Oxfam shop (the bricks) that will make their C'mas?

Am preparing to go & do dd's room now.....
