Does such a hoover exist...?!

Wireless but powerful.
Can cope with lots of long hairs without clogging any brush.
Good on carpet AND wooden floors.
Bagless but doesn’t need emptying every 5 seconds.

Not looking to spend money for money's sake, but if something is properly decent am prepared to fork out as mum is contributing (as my Xmas present!!)

Ooh watching.

I saw a Shark cordless model on Amazon which I was tempted by (I have a smallish flat so cordless should be fine for us in terms of how long it needs to last) but the reviews were so mixed as they always are... plenty people saying amazing and then the ones saying that it was completely useless.

This was the one I was looking at: www.amazon.co.uk/Shark-Cordless-Cleaner-IZ201UKT-Turquoise/dp/B082QJ5LB2/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?psc=1&crid=1H5EGU5YVU7HV&keywords=shark+cordless+vacuum&sprefix=shark+%2Caps%2C198&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzSDVSNVFCUThFVTQmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAxNjg1NjcxWUtMMDVPMEFQSTcyJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAzNjMyMjcyRjAyU0s2UkQ3MTFTJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1638372274&sr=8-1-spons

Lidl did a vaxx cordless one that is brilliant

FayCarew · 01/12/2021 18:11

I use a rubber broom first then an ordinary bagless vacuum cleaner.

The broom picks up the hair.

shockedballoon · 01/12/2021 20:24

Yes @ditalini - I've also seen that one doing the rounds on my various socials feed (thanks algorithms...) and it seems to fit the bill, but wondered if anyone had real world experience of it or similar, and if they luved up to the hype!

I have a rubber broom thing @FayCarew - it is indeed good at getting the hair up, but I cba doing everything twice 😁 tbh it's best for the wet floor shower room as the water tends to collect* round the toilet if not swept away
*(after DS has had a tropical rain storm to de-mud after footy!)
Which vaxx one was it @GrrrlPwr?

I have the Dyson V12 and really love it :) think it fits all your criteria. The only thing I don't love is that you have to hold down the trigger at all times when cleaning.

Avarua · 01/12/2021 20:30

It doesn't exist. They all have a stupid small cylinder that needs emptying every few minutes.

MynameisWa · 01/12/2021 20:35

Yes it does a Shark upright. I have one. It’s heavy to push around. It has a special rolling thing to stop hair clog and it works. The cylinder does still need frequent emptying. I am happy with mine.

Pancakeplant · 01/12/2021 20:38

Shark Lift-Away. Best hoover I've ever had, I'm obsessed with it. It's not wireless but you can lift out the middle bit to carry with you and it's pretty light, with a long lead, so it's actually more practical to take all over the house - I've never had much success with the cordless ones, they're just not as powerful ime.

The bottom bit lights up for when you're hoovering under furniture and mine also has "anti hair wrap technology" which I was sceptical about but works well

imnotareindeer · 01/12/2021 23:00

I have a basic shark cordless, it's ok. I can Hoover the whole place on one charge and one cylinder, if a general Hoover. It's not terrible and not brilliant either. I have wood and carpet, but use the carpet setting on both, the wood setting seems to do nothing. I think I maybe have unrealistic expectations of a Hoover. Henry the actual commercial one hoovers better, but I can't be lugging that around a three story house.

I've previously had a Dyson handheld and the shark is better. The anti hair wrap works mostly, but it is heavy and ugly.

I lust after a Miele Triflex. They are big bucks though, might be worth looking at some reviews.

After googling I'm also lusting.
