How to wash new towels for the first time?

I've splurged for the first time in my life on luxurious new fluffy Egyptian Cotton towels...but I know I need to wash them prior to using.

I've read a lot of tips online but would love to hear tried and true advice from Mumsnet experts please!?

I have a front loader if that makes any difference

I’m no expert, but definitely don’t use fabric conditioner. This really reduces absorbency.

I would wash on a low heat, leave out to dry and then tumble dry when almost dry to soften the towels up. The more you tumble dry them, the more lint/ fibres are lifted from the towels and they get thinner over time and less “full”. But a bit of tumbling will be necessary to keep them soft.

Just wash and tumble dry them. They do not need treating with kid gloves. They are towels. No fabric softener.
