Dfs sofa - washing cushion covers

So we have had a sofa from DFS for about 3 years, it's duck egg blue and has stained so easily even with just water when it has spilt it has left a water mark. We gave furniture cover but tbh I can't be bothered to go through the whole process and I don't even think they'll come out as it was reported within 28 days.
So, I've decided to risk it and wash in the washing machine, on 30 degrees and then put back on when damp. Has anyone done this? What's the best product to use to get stains and water marks out?
Thank you!

As it wasn't reported within 28 days that should say, sorry!

I’ve done this with several sofas - frequently washed the covers and never had an issue, even though the care label says you can’t. The hardest part is getting them back on the cushions, but washing has never affected the fabrics. I just used my normal washing powder.

I managed to get what looked like a car tyre mark (it was second hand!) out of a cream sofa cover by treating with vanish then washing at 30 - it was a bugger to get back on but looks fine.

I’ve often washed sofa cushion covers, inc. recently some for a dd. Pre treat any actual stains, 30 deg normal wash. Need BFI to get them back on, though (brute force and ignorance). I’ve never put them back on damp, maybe it’s easier.

My Plumbs ones (pale yellow heavy linen look) are easier than dd’s though.

I wash my sofa covers a couple of times a year. It’s a 2 person job to put them back on. DH squishes the seat pads and I manoeuvre the covers into the correct position. It’s a bit of a faff but they come up really well.

Amazing thanks all! I'll wait until we've moved house this weekend rather than start asking my boyfriend to start squishing sofa cushions while he's moving furniture haha.
@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER what did you pre treat with if you don't mind me asking?

I washed DFS sofa cushions. They don't get the water marks when you wash the whole thing. But do zip them closed when you wash them as the fire proof coating will come off and flake over everything....for that reason don't wash anything else with them. And do put them back on damp.

@Fleetw00d last time it was Ace ‘bleach’ for colours, but that was just what I happened to have - I’m sure any similar would have done. And as a pp said, always zip them up before washing.

I machine wash the sofa covers from my approx 10yo DFS sofa several times a year.
I wash at 60°c, dry on the airer and put them back on when totally dry.
I did them all at the weekend and earlier this week and have just put the last ones back on an hour or so ago.

I've got 2 big sofas and a chair, so tend to do one sofa at a time so there is always one with cover on to sit on. Then the chair and side cushions.
