Which Shark????

I quite like our Dyson but it's a few years old now. I've replaced the battery and that made a big difference (only £20 on Ebay).

On a thread today lots of people were recommending Sharks, but having looked there are so many versions! Corded, hair wrap, pet, different battery times...

Which do you have and love please? Or the opposite!

I have the upright pet one - it's amazing! Four years in and it's still performing really well, gets all of the pet hair out of everything and easy to use. Didn't think the cordless was as good so didn't keep it, but that's personal preference.

mommybear1 · 22/11/2021 12:34

I've got the cordless anti wrap as I have long hair and thought this would be the answer - I love it 😍

chickensafari · 22/11/2021 12:39

We have the corded lift-away and its brilliant, although I do have long hair so spend a lot of time cutting hair out of it wondering if I should have got the anti hair wrap one. We had Dysons for years and were happy with them, but the suction on the Shark is so much stronger. When you first use your Shark you'll be shocked at how much you pick up from a carpet you thought was clean!

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 22/11/2021 12:51

I wouldnt bother . They are shit imo. I absolutely refuse to use the thing. Go back to Dyson or a Henry is a good one

RainingYetAgain · 22/11/2021 13:04

I have just replaced the pre motor filter and the flexible tube on my 20plus year old Dyson and its miraculous . I am no longer looking for a replacement vacuum

Branleuse · 22/11/2021 13:14

I hate mine. I wouldnt bother.
Get a miele

Mamascoven · 22/11/2021 13:23

I have the corded anti hair wrap and love it! Much prefer a corded hoover but that's personal preference.

Cupcakegirl13 · 22/11/2021 13:35

I also hate mine biggest and most expensive mistake I ever made we have a cordless lift away . Miele cat and dog is hands down better than this .

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 22/11/2021 13:47

I've had 3 cordless Dyson's and was swayed by MN telling me Sharks are brilliant. I have the most expensive cordless one. I hate it. Will go back to Dyson next time.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 22/11/2021 13:49

I hate my cordless shark. Now I have the corded lift away and love it

lustforlife · 22/11/2021 14:13

We bought the anti hair wrap cordless and it's beyond rubbish. We have two dogs and it doesn't touch the animal hair. On our hard floors it doesn't pick up anything bigger than a grain of rice. I've been borrowing my mums Dyson Animal and it's so good. Can't believe all the dog hair we had in the carpets 🤢

ProfInkly · 22/11/2021 14:16

I recently bought the cordless anti hair wrap one and it's nowhere near as good as my old v6 dyson which I'm now going to buy a new battery for.

I was almost swayed by the same thing earlier in the year. Reviews of Shark other than here seemed pretty poor. Went for Dyson V11 and it's fab.

Dont waste your money, they are crap!

BeautifulBirds · 22/11/2021 16:09

Loved mine.... 2 years in hate it. Blocks at the handle constantly

Cynderella · 22/11/2021 17:44

We have corded anti hair wrap lift away and it works really well. My hair tends to upset Eufy, but Shark doesn't complain. I do take it apart and clean it regularly but probably not as often as I should.

Twillow · 22/11/2021 22:26

Very interesting! Those of you who have the corded seem happy but I don't really want a corded...

Just counted up - out of 6 posters who have or have tried the cordless, only 1 of you likes it!

We have cats and cordless vacuum cleaners never seem to get floors as clean as the corded equivalent - we've had Mieles, Dysons and Sharks. Had corded and cordless.

Happy with Shark. Dysons always a disappointment after first few months. Mieles always good for us, but I prefer bagless and uprights.

Roselilly36 · 25/11/2021 08:11

I have had Dyson, Air Ram & now shark, I much prefer the shark, of them all, I have the pet version of cordless, anti hair wrap, duo clean. So pleased with it, the anti hair wrap really does work. I was so fed up of cutting my hair off the brush bar of the other two. Really good power. Would recommend.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 25/11/2021 20:29

My mum loves her cordless shark but she has no kids or animals

TangerineDreams · 25/11/2021 20:35

It's true. Cordless are shite. Corded are fantastic but n my view. I have a Shark duo lift away or whatever it's called and I don't have an issue with the cord at all. I do detach the motor part a lot as I like that in one hand and the lightweight brush part to sweep around the room easily.
I had a cordless Dyson and hated it. Having to charge it and the fact that it blew the air towards you. In a cleanish house it's fine but I had to get changed after hoovering up my dad's house where they have a truly stinking old dog. The smell shot straight out onto my hand and clothes!
WeeM · 25/11/2021 20:39

We have the cordless hair wrap shark and I do like it, it’s miles better than my Dyson was but it still doesn’t pick up everything but I think a corded would do that I just prefer the cordless as it’s handy. The pet tool that came with it is great for the sofa.

freeandfierce · 25/11/2021 20:54

Corded hair wrap Shark, amazing. Couldn't believe how much ginger cat fur it picked up from my 'clean' carpets. Works in my hard floors too. Love the liftaway feature and the mini motorised head attachment is good. Like the power adjustment and how easy it is to empty the bin. Usually good offers on. Had Dyson and Vax previously but love my shark!

madisonbridges · 25/11/2021 21:04

My sister has a cordless and loves it fir ease of use and lightness. But it doesn't pick up as well as a corded. But no cordless will be as powerful as a corded. That true of drills, screwdrivers, etc, as well.
