Anyone else with a really cobwebby house?

House isn't that old, probably 1970 so it's not as if it's a thatched cottage circa 1800. There are cobwebs on all ceilings, upper walls, light fightings, any corner or crevice. I use an extendable duster thing every few weeks and even started hoovering the walls but the buggers come back with a vengeance within a week. I never, ever see cobwebs in anyone else's house, so what is it about mine? Windows are regularly opened to let in fresh air and I don't have the heating on high. Strangely I don't have a lot of dust.

Apparently house spiders have a ‘homing sense’ so will return. I just dust every couple of weeks/if I see a cobweb. I think start of autumn is the worst time of year

Yeah mines really bad,to be fair the cleaner removes them every week. I think you need to keep on top of it.

My partner is the duster in our house and he dusts weekly. Ceilings nooks and crannies included. We don’t really get cobwebs often. 30s semi. House isn’t particularly dusty.

Not everyone wants to do that though.

Yes mine is awful. Georgian so high ceilings involving ladders. Drives me mad.

Thanks for the replies. I read that they are actually old spider homes that weren't constructed into webs, then they just get covered in dust. This makes sense as we have lots of spiders webs too. It's literally an advert for a haunted house 😭

Our house is Halloween ready all year!!

I hovered all upstairs yesterday, wound up the cord and then remembered the cobweb above our bedroom window. Ah fuck it I thought, I'll get it next time. Getting up this morning I noticed a fucking giant one hanging off the ceiling above my pillow.

We get millions of spiders over autumn, I blame it on the woods out back
