Keep ruining white clothes in washing machine!

Can anyone help? Everytime I wash white clothes they come out with black/grey stains. I have tried washing the rubber seal which has got mould stains on it but not sure what else to do! Anyone else have this problem?

Have you used a washing machine cleaner, or chucked a bottle of white vinegar in on an empty wash ?

GoodnightGrandma · 09/11/2021 21:46

Do you wash muddy or really dirty clothes in your machine ?

Longdistance · 09/11/2021 21:47

Have you maybe run a 90° wash before adding the whites to give your machine a good clean?

dementedpixie · 09/11/2021 21:53

Are you using liquids rather than powder detergent? Liquids/pods can lead to a build up of sludge in the drum as they don't contain the bleaches that powders do

KylieKangaroo · 09/11/2021 21:55

I have given it a clean a couple of times yes. Not really any muddy clothing. I've only just learnt though that you should leave the door open when not in us, always kept it closed with young children around so maybe the rubber seal is beyond repair?!

Keep the door and drawer wide open when not in use.

What is the main detergent? Powder or liquid?
KylieKangaroo · 09/11/2021 21:58

Powder detergent 🙂 thanks all! I didn't know to leave the draw open too?

Have you cleaned out the filter and the dispenser drawer? Also clean the bit the drawer fits into

GoodnightGrandma · 09/11/2021 22:01

Do you take the drawer out to wash it, and wash the space in the machine where the drawer goes ?
You get lots of mould in there if it’s not open

Black streaks is oil from the bearings. You need it repaired or replaced

TrampolineForMrKite · 09/11/2021 22:03

We had this in our last machine. The ball bearings had come loose and were somehow staining the clothes - luckily we had cover and it was too expensive to fix so they replaced our machine. This was after we spent a small fortune on every type of washing machine cleaner out there though.

Apparently it’s very common Bekos after a few years. We replaced it with a different brand. So if you’ve got a Beko that’s a few years old, it might be that. Not that it couldn’t happen to other brands obviously, but the engineer told me this specifically about that particular brand.
