Recommend me a washing machine?

My washing machine has just died (well, it sounded like it was about to explode or take off on a mission to Mars), I’ve had this one for 10+ years and it was 2nd hand, I have never had a new washing machine. I have money put aside as I knew this day was coming but I have no idea what to buy 🤔. Can anyone recommend a reliable washing machine that will last me another 10+ years?

Depends on your budget OP. IMO a lot of the cheaper brands will not last so long - we were in a rental flat and the less than 2 year old machine needed a new drum! I saved up and bought the most basic miele but it was still ££££

The one I have is a Bosh, so I’m tempted to buy another as this ones lasted so long, I have heard Miele and Bosh are probably the best options?

I bought my Miele at least 14 years ago, maybe longer, I can’t remember precisely. It did however cost £££ I bought it because it had the best results at the time for leaving the least detergent residue in clothes. This was important as my son had excema. The Miele and fairy soap powder helped with the itching, and the bonus is that the machine is still going strong, and still washing his clothes when he comes home for a visit.

We’ve been delighted with our Miele - not a moment’s trouble in nearly 13 years (so far). Of course the snag is that only tells you they made excellent machines 13 years ago!
