Ikea bed and matress

Hi, I am thinking of getting an Ikea bed for my teen daughter, both frame and matress.
The one I want has two matresses, and drawers. So it can be converted to a double if having visitors.
Anyone has frames from Ikea? And the matresses? Are they any good?

Ours creaks and wobbles. We are on the second from IKEA as it's all that budget allows. The mattress is saggy too. If you can afford it go higher quality.

I thought so!
I do like the design. I need to find something similar, as storage and two mattress will be ideal!

We have a Hemnes frame (absolutely fine) but we bought another mattress.

I do want something like the Hemnes indeed!
It is really practical.
I have seen the mattress before, and I was not sold.

We have the IKEA Hemnes daybed, which sounds like what you are going for. Got the IKEA mattress too. It’s in the guest room and guests always say how comfy it is.

I have the malm ottoman double, with the hyllestad mattress (pocket sprung and memory foam) plus tossoy mattress topper. It’s a fabulous combination!

HairyFeline · 31/10/2021 23:48

I have the Hemnes with the higher quality mattress (it’s got a rippled effect going on-hard to describe!). It’s been great for the last three years (daily use). I’d recommend it as a finished product but my gosh I couldn’t have put it together without the excellent youtube tutorial! What a sod it was…IKEA at their peak!

IKEA Hovag mattresses are brilliant, I get medium firm, they're pocket sprung and so comfy. I run holiday lets and use them in these as well as at my home, and my guests always ask where the mattress is from. Good value too. We have a grey metal bed frame from IKEA which is well made and modern looking. Their white hemnes beds are good too.

Some positive reviews indeed!
I am a bit worried about the putting together phase now. All looks good and sounds good till you open the box!
I do have a chest of drawers friom them. It took me a while to put it together, but it was worthy. Still like new after 4 years.
I am going to visit ikea to have a look and see what she thinks of bed and mattress.
The one she got now is too soft for her going forward, so I think it will be firmer ones.

i have a bed from ikea (songersand). i’m really happy with it. very comfortable, no squeaking. i got the more expensive slats, and my
mattress is the old one, the bed has improved how the mattress feels. i thought i would see how it goes before buying a new mattress. Ikea do some great pillows too!

hellcatspangle · 01/11/2021 11:59

The hovag mattresses are great 👍🏻

BestZebbie · 01/11/2021 17:00

Our spare bed was from IKEA and it is a perfectly good bed but it is a slightly non-standard size, so only IKEA bedding fits on it (more of an issue with sheets than duvet covers) and that means we can't switch bedding sets between the rooms and need different laundry to fit each. I find this annoying enough that I won't buy an IKEA bed again once this one has had it.

MerryPumpkinmas · 01/11/2021 17:03

We have the Malm ottoman bed and Hamarvik (firm) mattress from IKEA and they are both great. We also have the Lyksele Havet sofa bed in our spare bedroom and I've slept on that and found that comfy too.

MushMonster · 01/11/2021 20:30

We are heading to Ikea this weekend!
We will have a look to different mattresses, and see if they are comfy for her.
I have noticed that they are narrower and longer than the standard single, so fitted sheets need to come from Ikea for sure!
I have shown her videos on the two we have in mind and she likes them, so worthy the trip.
Thanks for your reviews Smile
