Vacuum emergency

Calling all calling all equestrians, owners of geriatric and smelly dogs, multiple kitties or several teens: my Shark vacuum is kaput, i'd love a cordless vacuum - does anyone run a house that gets genuinely dirty every day ( and therefore needs vacuuming every day) and have a recommendation please? Corded will do if I have to. I need to go buy one now.
Thanks for reading.

We have a Eufy robots hoover. He copes with two husky crosses, a long haired cat, and two muddy adult humans.

God love him. He saves my sanity.

We also have a shark, its great but we recently bought an OKP robot vaccum. IT'S. A. LIFE. CHANGER. it was on offer for £100 on amazon and it manages to keep up with 2 messy/muddy adults and a toddler who runs round with his wellies on whilst leaving crumbs everywhere! Oh, and we have 2 dogs... We run it everyday, they only time I have to use my shark now is on the shaggy rug in the living room every few days.

We also have a cheap cordless, but it's shite. Fills up in a minute, battery life is poor etc. Don't recommend, it's even crap on the stairs.

We ALSO have a proper industrial hoover we bought for a house refurb project last year. This thing is amazing. 100 times better than Henry ever was:

We have an iRobot Roomba (he’s a bit geriatric now, but he’s called Wolfgang & we love him).

He deals with 3 elderly cats, an elderly, very shedding labradoodle & a young double doodle mutt who loves to bring in leaves/twigs/grass/petals/slugs on his shaggy coat.

We have laminated floors so very flat & easy to clean, but he does tend to ground himself on the living room rub & sound a distress jingle.

He’s great for a quick whiz round everyday to keep on top of the day to day bits.

We also have an upright Dyson pet thingy (apologies, extreme pain day, trying to type through a pregabalin fog lol) which is great for the rugs (shaggy & more flat fibre) as well as the flat floor upstairs. I find it really heavy, but it cleans the rugs really well.

For general cleaning, we have an industrial wet/dry shop vacuum we got from Lidl for £50 (1800w, as it’s not a domestic vac the wattage isn’t limited!!). He is fantastic for pretty much anything! His name is Wilson, because I’m rather loopy.

I'm so pleased to hear that! I think I might be in line for one of those this Christmas 🎅 so I'm delighted to hear they are helpful.

Wolfgang 😂 great to hear such a big response for robo vacuums.
You guys have made up my mind. I'll get another shark for now and await my Christmas present robo vacuum with absolute glee.

Robot hoovers are the way forward.

I love mine 🥰. And he doesn't chat back when I scold him for missing a bit 😀

LeaveYourHatOn · 14/10/2021 11:31

Seconding the Eufy robovac. Got one after a thread on here. Changed our lives! So so so good. Mine is on every day and is FULL of fur and hair every day.

Okay, anyone who is still on this thread with a Eufy / much-loved robo vac - hit me with your models please.

RedCarsGoFaster · 14/10/2021 12:30

We have the Eufy 11s, but would probably go for the 15 Max if buying from the newer one models. Ours is a few years old now.

bizarrustii · 14/10/2021 12:33

Eufy Robovac 11S it's £129 and it's used every day.
Also have a shark

SylvanasWindrunner · 14/10/2021 12:36

He's just been beavering around my desk whilst I work at home 😍

CarbonMonoxideParty · 14/10/2021 13:00
