Is this daft?

I have a lounge with a conservatory at the end

The conservatory is used for work & looks a bit messy/untidy/drives me wild

I have large french doors between the rooms

Would it look awful to just keep the curtains closed so it looks like a fabric wall rather than a mess?

you could put vertical blinds up.

Katymac · 09/12/2007 12:35

Well I could but I have the curtains already up - I just wondered about them being closed all the time

vertical blinds are for offices not houses,in my opinion - how about a muslin panel - would let the light through and screen anything unsightly

SantaBeClausImWorthIt · 09/12/2007 12:36

Tidy up?!!

MellowChristmasEveryone · 09/12/2007 12:38

I would buy a nice floaty muslin panel.

Katymac · 09/12/2007 12:40

Tidy up???

Not possible

People keep giving me toys for the nursery - until the nursery opens or I buy some storage the conservatory stays a mess

really, avoid vertical blinds though - I think they're so ugly

indiemummy · 09/12/2007 12:58

Just keep the curtains closed - no problem - as long as they're not really heavy and dark. White or light-coloured curtains / drapes are good.

Could also invest in a big screen to stand in front of the curtains or the mess. Though your living room might look like a changing room!

Katymac · 09/12/2007 13:00

I think I need to hire a garage/shed/container for all this stuff

If the curtains are dark and heavy then no, it would not look nice (imo)
How about some of those frosted stick-on film panels, you could cover the glass panels in those, it would block out unsightly mess but still let the light through.

Agree with MAS - step away from vertical blinds.

MerryAnnSinglemas · 09/12/2007 22:32

yes, agree with Hippi - the frosted panels you stick on are v good - we have Brume ones on front door window panes

Katymac · 10/12/2007 22:35

Oh I don't know - I need another room
