Has anyone got a vax dual power carpet cleaner

So I bought this cleaner off my mum who has used it once but she expected to be able to do her stairs with it so bought another more practical one and I've bought it off her.

Ive used an industrial type rental before but never a normal household one so wasn't sure what to expect. I am a lazy housekeeper so I hardly ever clean the carpets just give them a quick once over with the Henry when it needs it. My partner has always changed the bags and filters and stuff because I'm lousy at it and clueless tbh.

I give it a clean and followed instruction manual but I have a few questions over whether I'm using it right.

  1. I tested it on a rug and expected it to 'pull' on the rug as it wasn't fixed. When you drag it back it doesn't seem to pull on the rug at all, I honestly thought I'd struggle with it - does this sound right?? I wasn't sure whether I'd fit it wrong and the suction wasn't working properly? We have struggled with a massive cleaner before when trying to do areas of carpet that isn't fixed before
  1. After going back and forth on a carpet with a super dirty area (hasn't been properly cleaned for two years and is filthy) it was spitting some water out a little, and a bit of froth and bubbles started foaming around the cord area so I stopped and unplugged it as it seemed dangerous. Is this normal or common as well? I don't want to blow the thing up!!

Thanks Smile

I had one, and I thought it was such a useless, rubbish thing that I got rid of it sharpish. I don't know what it would have done to a rug, but yes, mine produced a lot of froth - but it didn't come out from around the cord area; that sounds as if your machine may have a leak.

It also pulled huge amounts of wool off the carpets, and clogged up inside. And the results were not great - uneven, and tracks all over the carpets when they were dry again.
