Practicalities of a super king sized bed!

Anyone bought a super kingsized bed and later regretted it when they moved?

We're taking out a small mortgage on a superdooper new mattress and I think for the extra £100 we should get super king sized one and then get a new bedstead too. I'm 5ft10, DH is 6ft3, neither of us is a waif... And I like the idea of DD & DS joining us for eventual weekend lie-ins.

DH reckons we'll regret it if/when we come to move cos it may not fit a new bedroom (we have BAGS of room now, bedroom is over 6x4metres)

So, all you super king sizers, does your bed fit OK in your boudoir, or does it dominate it??!! Is it worth the extra ££££? (I know the answer to the latter, just need some ammunition to persuade DH and entice him into the Feather & Black bed sale this weekend )

Oooh a bed-thread

I've got a huge bedroom. It's over the double garage, so double garage sized, obviously.

am toying with idea of king size bed with joined on side table thingies.

Have already had a look at three foot wide pillows at 60 quid each

We had a two bed terrace where it dominated the bedroom, but who cares! So much better to sleep in.

DH had to unscrew the whole thing to get it out of the house though. The frame had those wide sides which would have made it a nightmare to get out.

Now, rescrewed and in our new house, and still bliss. (apart from the fact it's so effing solid it's doing my back in but that's a different thread)

We've got a superking sized bed and it is fab. Didn't find it a problem when we moved house, even though our new bedroo is considerably smaller than our last one.

The bed size we did have a problem with was when we had an emperor sized bed (7ft x 7ft). We had to get EVERYTHING custom made - sheets, duvets, duvet covers. We couldn't even give it away when we wanted rid of it, and I still remember the horror I felt at seeing a 5 grand bed being crushed in the back of a Haringey council removal van .

Bet it was worth it when you were sleeping in it though - 7x7 sounds like heaven
