Drain Flies.

Over the last week I’ve noticed loads of what appeared to be midges buzzing around my flat. Didn’t think much of it as we’d had the patio doors open quite a lot.

However we’ve not had them open much the last 2-3 days and the midges persist.

This morning I went into the kitchen and noticed a significant number of them flying around near the sink. I assume now that they’re actually drain flies.

Is it enough for me to shove some Mr Muscle sink and drain unblocker down all the plug holes? Will that get rid of them? I have two big bottles of that.

I’m not interested in going to any cost to get rid of them (saw lots of things on google recommending camera surveys of drains and all sorts Hmm) as I’m renting and due to complete on my own house purchase in the next few weeks and then the drain flies won’t be my problem anymore.

Any other suggestions?

I’d put down bleach - leave for a few hours

And a few kettles of boiling water

Then bleach again over night - should do the job
