Eco Eggs

I read a few posts saying that people use the eco eggs to do their washing. I have bought one but haven't used it yet. I saw a couple of posters said they still use conditioner - is that necessary? Does the egg not do the job of cleaning and conditioner (which is what it says on the box).

If you do use conditioner does that affect the number of washes you get out of the egg?

I use it for "clean" washing, things that aren't marked/stained (I have toddlers so lots of stuff isnt "clean") but I find I need poweder to do the job on dirty things. I don't use conditioner with it, works fine without for me.

@MistyFrequencies - thank you! I usually pre-soak in detergent with added Zoflora for extreme problems (I have a disabled husband), but not much else gets what I'd call dirty. I can usually get away with a quick wash for clothes, but do human and dog bedding for a long wash at 40 degrees.

How have you found longevity of your Egg?

I think I've had it since about February this year and it's still going strong

Oh wow! Thank you. I did the washing machine clean today (including the powder gunked drawer) so tomorrow I'll egg it and see how I get on. I'm hoping it works for me because it's such a saving and I never did find the path to the money tree.

I bought an ecoegg from www.ecolutions.co.uk.
I followed their advice and used an ecoegg detox tab prior to my first use of the egg and 4 months later, my washing is still coming out fantastically!
I love the subtle scent it leaves on the clothing. I never liked the overpowering artificial smells.
It has saved me so much money and my washing machine doesn't smell of the damp it used to between washes! I can't recommend them enough!
