Hoover smell

Hi, wondering if anyone can help.
I have a dyson animal hoover and I use it everyday, almost twice a day (have a very hairy golden retriever)
Recently the smell coming from the hoover is awful.
I dismantled it completely and washed every part I could, I empty the hoover bin after every hoover regardless of how much is in it, regularly wash the filter... but it stinks.

Does anyone know how I can get this smell away? It's all I can smell after I hoover a room

Thanks

What is the smell? Is it like a burning smell? If so the hoover might be faulty.

If it’s just a generally unpleasant odour maybe get some shake n vac and hoover it up to see if that helps.

Does it smell a bit like feet ? Our hoover smelt like this and the man in the shop said to wash the hose, just unscrew it and wash it in soapy water. It worked but needs doing every now now and again or the smell comes back .

@GemmaRuby it's not a burning smell.. it just smells like a mixture of dog and unpleasant odour.
I have wooden floors all throughout the house so shake and vac probably isn't the best idea.. i can give it a try in a small area though!
Thanks!

You can soak some cotton wool in something that smells nice and stick it in the hoover bag. I use the fresh linen zoflora smell but you can use anything really.

Have you got any unstoppables ? Those things you chuck in the washing machine to make everything smell fresh. If you have, hoover some up 👍

I drop some essential oil - mint works well or lemon - on the bag and filter. Does the trick.

These are all great suggestions!! Will try them. Thanks everyone ☺️
