Floor washing-how often?

I have lino tiles (quite nice ones) in the kitchen/diner and laminate in the hall, also lino on the bathroom floor. I hoover as and when they look a bit hairy/crumby, about 3 times a week, but how often should I be actually mopping them if they don't look dirty?

I mop our bathroom floor, which is vinyl, every week or sometimes twice a week. I mop the kitchen floor every day in theory, but in practice 5 times a week. I only mop the wooden bedroom floor every month but it gets vacuumed every week.

I think a weekly mop for high traffic areas is probably the minimum to keep them looking nice and to stop dirt from getting ingrained in them.

I am such a slob, have dark wood all over downstairs and whilst I hoover most days, it gets mopped once in a blue moon. Mainly cos I can't see it's dirty so I pretend it's not!

I clean to kitchen and bathroom floors at least once a week, sometimes twice. I don't mop - I prefer to get on my hands and knees and wipe.

twice a year whether they need it or not

Ah see this is the problem I have, the kitchen/diner floor is dark grey, so apart from the dog hair nothing really shows up

I have creamy coloured ceramic tiles on kitchen floor, beautiful but show everything. I mop at least twice a day - looking at other responses I'm feeling a bit OCD . Can't see how could do less though with 4 dcs.

daily but scooba does it for me

EmilyDavidson · 07/12/2007 13:36

I hoover daily and mop weekly ,and spot clean in between as necessary

I sweep every day, sometimes twice, but only wipe if it's visibly sticky.

What wash the actual floor?

I should add that the bedroom is only mopped weekly as DH has asthma and it helps keep the dust level low.
