Getting urine smell out of warm-washed laundry

DH put DD2’s pee-soaked laundry straight into a 40° wash before rinsing “because there wasn’t time” Now the smell seems to be set in. Is there anything we can do, or are all those fabrics just fit for the bin now?

Did you use bio or non bio?

Non-bio - we don’t have any bio powder in the house at the moment, unfortunately.

Piss should easily wash out - wash with biological powder at 60 degrees.

Will that also be true if it’s been washed in a warm wash first?

Bio powder and a splosh of laundry sanitiser or zoflora should help.

Yes bio..if you can dry in the sun so much the better.

Warm wash won't make a difference one way or another.

We're pee central here unfortunately and always use bio. Never have an issue with lingering odour and never prewash or soak.

I sometimes put a capful of Zoflora or Dettol in with the wash so you could try rewashing with that or Vanish if you don't have bio powder.

Scoosh of white vinegar directly onto the washing and do a long wash 40 should be OK if you don't want to go 60

Definitely should be OK if washed in bio washing powder.
