Help pull me out this mildew hell!

My shower has got mildew/black mould on the silicon sealant, just under the shower, on the one wall. It's already been redone (apparently to a mildew free one Hmm), but lo and behold, it's returned. I leave the windows open all day and night to air it, we have an electric vent for when the shower is on.

I've tried every lotion and potion I can find. Tried home remedies recommended on the internet. Ordered stuff off the internet. Gone to garden centres and DIY shops for their best suggested stuff.

Nothing works! It's still there, won't shift.

Pleeeeeeease tell me how to get rid of it.

Dry the shower down after use, I use a squeegee and then the dry with a cloth. Spray with a mild mould clearer once a month or so.

HG mould and mildew remover will remove mildew from most surfaces and if used as needed will stop it returning, unfortunately if its in or under the silicone then it would need to be stripped and redone. As the previous poster said drying the area after use and ventilation is your best defence.

Dry the area, soak cotton wool in bleach and cover the silicone, press the cotton wool down and cover with more bleach if required. Ensure the room is ventilated. Leave for 12 - 16 hours dependant on how bad it is, this should clear it.

This is the method I use, it works like magic. Use rubber gloves.

Cillit Bang Mould Remover - it worked on our very stubborn black marks in the grouting and sealant. Leave all the windows open though.

Undiluted bleach always kills mould, it’s a harsh chemical though so minimise contact as inflames lungs and airways. Rinse water afterwards.
