Help new shawl shedding fluff !

I bought a polyester shawl to wear on cosy nights in. It’s lovely and warm but it’s shedding fluff EVERYWHERE.
I’ve just done a load of washing and it’s come out covered in fluff too. Must have come off the clothes I wore yesterday.

Is there a solution?

I'd wash it again on its own and put it outside on the washing line, it might be worth a try.
