Old v new Henry hoovers

I need a new hoover and borrowed my mum's Henry hoover to try it out. It's great so want to buy my own. Issue is that hers is a slightly older model which has a hi-low button to temporarily boost the power from normal 620 watts to 1,200 watts. New Henrys don't seem to have this boost button and their wattage stays at 620 watts.

My question is does anyone have experience of both models to tell me if suction is unaffected by lack of turbo boost? Manufacturer says engine improvements mean still great suction but would like a second opinion!

For me the best bit of Henry is the turbo boost. I don't find that with the low settiing those small brush attachments suck anything up. Sorry to hear they have removed the turbo charge setting, will make sure I keep my current Henry.

I purchased a Henry Numatic last November and it seems to have great suction with all of the attachments for me, to the point that it lifts the carpet too. It has a switch thing on the pipe that is supposed to be a booster I think although I haven't really taken the time to test out the difference because it does the job for me anyway.

Thanks @KimWexlersPonyTail.The standard suction is great upstairs and practically lifts the carpet but our thicker carper downstairs seems cleaned better with the turbo boost. Yep @Goingbackto5oh5 that hole in the tube does make a difference - just not sure as much as the turbo button. But thinking of getting the rotating brush attachment which may make up for things.

My parents had to replace theirs recently. According to my brother (who hoovers for them) the new one is a lot more efficient and stronger on the lower setting than the old one.

@Aroundtheworldin80moves. Great feedback - thanks! I've read it's more efficient despite the lower wattage so good to have that confirmed.
