Can I use a shark vacuum on berber carpet?

I’ve just bought a loop pile carpet for the stairs and landing and I’m not sure if I can use my shark vacuum or if the rotating brush head will pull at the loops. Has anyone used a shark or a rotating brush head vacuum with this type of carpet and has it been ok? It’s a polypropylene carpet, I couldn’t have the wool one I really wanted as we have problems with moths.

I cannot see why not it's job is often to vacuum carpets, it will not pull the loops.

Don't do it!!! I've ruined our berber carpet using the hoover on the beater bar setting. It hasn't pulled the loops up so much as caused it to go all fluffy and now looks rubbish
