'Tasting' dust ?!

My living room is becoming my most hated place in the house. Over the summer, this sensation has crept up on me and now I can't abide going in there.

I feel like I can smell a dustiness in there - I can sense it as well - almost feel it. My tongue and nostrils and back of my throat feel icky- I cannot describe it any other way.

We air it regularly, we aren't smokers, 2 cats but it's dusted and polished regularly and hoovered a few times a week. Sat in here now and I don't like the sensation of being in here. I try and put essential oils in the burner but that makes no difference at all.

Help!

Could it be damp rather than dust?

LittleEsme · 14/09/2021 22:17

I don't think so. House is only about 20 years old and there's no sign of it anywhere on walls etc

It could be damp. Have you looked behind furniture? New-ish houses can get damp as they are very well sealed if not ventilated.

I'll drag everything out this evening.
