Underfloor heating and drying washing

I don’t have a tumble dryer and when the weather is ok I try to dry outside. Otherwise I dry inside but try to put dehumidifier on but my washing still seems to take ages to dry. I was thinking of buying one of those heated drying racks for the winter. However, I am about to have some underfloor heating installed and wondered whether that will deal with the problem!

Does anyone successfully dry their clothes in a room with underfloor heating?

We have the big room made in extension with water type underfloor.

Yes it is amazing for drying clothes.

If underfloor is soon then wait and see?

Put stuff over radiators for now?

I mean obv the heating needs to be on! Which depending on the type could be expensive if you end up putting it on just to dry the washing.

That’s good to know! Thank you. I would definitely not put it on just to dry the washing! Grin

I know someone who put in underfloor heating and they made a drying cupboard in their utility room. Literally just a cupboard with rails etc in it and it avoids having clothes horses around the place as it's all neatly hidden away. She says it works brilliantly and I thought what a fab idea!

I would love to have a utility room - that would be amazing. But in my small London terrace there is just no room for one so the kitchen diner becomes the default drying area…

It's brilliant and I'm not ashamed to say I put it on just to dry my washing........ And warm my permanently cold feet at the same time!!

YY we got classic extension that will be totally out of fashion in about 6 mins IE extension on back for big living/ dining space complete with bifold doors Grin

It's hard floor again as per trend starting 1990s and going massive Grin

We love it and yes the underfloor is lovely. No cold floor.

Also ours is the plumbed in one that I've found means in summer it warms up during the day because if you think about it, it would. And then is free heat in the evening!

It is lovely.

I do have a deep and only occasionally registered fear about it springing a leak though. For full disclosure.

The electric option is much less efficient for large spaces.
