Washing kids trainers

I just wondered if any of you do this. The reason I ask is because my DS is toilet training and yesterday wet himself whilst out and it takes down his trousers in to his trainers, I can't see online (Asda) any washing instructions, they are mesh style, so I'm wondering if they would actually be okay after all, to go in the machine. Because although I have dried them out overnight, of course the smell will continue.

Thanks

I wash trainers in the washing machine sometimes - just a relatively gentle wash in a pillow case / similar. I just do it and hope they'll be OK (they usually are!).

I have got a trainer laundry bag from Lakeland. The trainers go in the bag and it protects the trainers and the machine. I wash them on a short, gentle, cold cycle using colour care liquid, add Dettol laundry disinfectant instead of softener and allow to air dry tied to the washing line. Avoid hot water and the tumble dryer. Works for teenagers' and adults' trainers too.

We wash trainers quite often - use a laundry bag or pillowcase and unlace if lace ups.

Non bio detergent, cool wash, spin max 1200 and dry naturally (well, on a radiator in the winter and outside in the summer)
Handy when they get bogging in the woods too! (Swill the worst off in the sink then bung through the washer)

Better to wash with stuff to balance the machine (towels or whatever) so they don’t bang about so much.

I just chuck them in the machine they always come out fine.

Okay thanks! That's great! And yes I just read online they said most material's of shoes are okay in the machine.
