Magimix food processor advice

Hi

I would like to get a food processor, to use mainly for making curry pastes, nut butters, pastes and dips.

I like the look of the magimix 4200XL but have heard it is a pain to clean due to things spilling into the larger bowl when the small bowl is in use. Has anyone got a magimix and have you difficult cleaning to be an issue?

Anyone have any other smaller model of magimix? Do you like it in terms of how well it does what it is meant to and how is it to clean?

Thanks for your help!

I have this and yeah sometimes stuff does spill into the larger bowls, but it's no big deal, I just rinse the bigger bowl under the tap and put back on the base again. Normally it's non-wet stuff like grated veg or cheese that spills - little bits fly out.

I absolutely love my magimix though and wouldn't be without it! It can make anything in seconds. I make cakes, dough etc with mine.

Yes I've got one. I hate it because of the bowl spillage, and as a result rarely use it. It is a very good food processor, but it's a really basic design flaw.

Hi

Thank you for tour replies. Which models of magimix do you have?

I've got the 4200XL.

4200xl here too

I have a 4200xl and love it but no doubt cleaning it is a pain in the arse so it doesn't get used as much as it should.

I've got the 3200 and wouldn't be without it. I just put the bowls and blades in the dishwasher and nothing bad has happened yet. Yes using the small bowl there is a little leakage but nothing a quick rinse under the tap doesn't fix. I've had mine for 7 years and love it!

I have had a 5200xl for 24 hours and am in love. Except- my love has a foible. I can’t get the small bowl out easily. Am I doing something wrong? Photo to demonstrate that I can’t get a hold on the rim!
is this something I need to love to learn? Thanks x Cake

We've got the 3200XL, (the compact version) and its great. Yes sometimes things spill a bit but it doesn't really bother me- a quick wash in the sink and its clean again. You can put all the bowls in the dishwasher too if things are really mucky.
