Accidentally ran vacuum without filter

I took the air filter out of the top of my Vax bagless vacuum and ran it for maybe 5 mins to pick up dog hair and toddler-generated debris. It seemed fine and only later did I realise I never put the filter back in after cleaning it! Have I done some damage or do you think it will survive? Blush

I imagine it will be fine, I have a track record of wrecking vacuums though so you might not want to take my word for it!

I'm sure it'll be fine. Totally sure!! I have friends that haven't used a filter in theirs for years!!

Tell you what, put the filter back in & come and Hoover mine, just to test it out!

I never considered the actual machine when reading your post, I thought you'd be concerned about all the rubbish and dust blowing back into your room to breath in! Grin

DH did this with our Miele, it was fine, despite all the dire warnings I found when I Googled it, which had me convinced that if would be broken. I wouldn't advise doing it regularly, but it was nearly a year ago now and ours is still working as it should!

is this the filter that filters the exhaust air blowing into the room? Or the one filtering the air before it gets sucked into the fan?
