Shiny new bathroom, I have good intentions but I am too lazy to spend hours .... what are your tips and star products?? Thank you so much.

I think this works really well & doesn’t leave streaks. ( they do a kitchen version which works well too but I’m not keen on the smell)

Then, once a week, I spray the tiles & grout in the shower & around the bath with this. I spray & leave it on whilst I go and hoover or something then rinse it off later. I’ve been in the house 5 years & the grout looks like new still

Viakal spray is a god send.shiny taps and no water marks on shower doors.Fantastic stuff.

Keep some of those noodle type cloths in the bathroom and dry your shower and sink down when you've used them. Makes a massive difference and stops shower sealant going mouldy.

LesLavandes · 25/08/2021 11:04

What is a noodle type cloth?

Bibbetybobbity · 25/08/2021 12:19

Viakal like @loveliesbleeding1 said. Is brilliant 👍🏻

user1471542288 · 25/08/2021 13:35

E-cloths??

Whatsnewpussyhat · 25/08/2021 13:39

I just use washing up liquid on a soft scourer on the bath and tiles then rinse with shower head. Soft microfibre clothsand window spray for screen, mirror and taps.

Franticbutterfly · 25/08/2021 16:49

Squeegy you shower glass every day.

Don't use Viakal on white grout as it is blue in colour and you'll end up with blue grout like I did. Cillit bang limescale is as good.

Clean your taps, mirror and loo every day.

Spray bleach cleaner in the shower and leave it every so often and have a wipe about.

Clean your shower when you are in it a couple of times a week.

I just discovered a product called HG. Game changer!

mineofuselessinformation · 25/08/2021 19:13

Polish the tiles with car polish - it stops the grime from sticking. (You do have to re-do it occasionally.)

Bathtimebillie · 25/08/2021 19:16

I keep a pack of dettol wipes in the bathroom and give it a wipe down when I pop in there during the day. A quick five minute wipe every day helps.

WhatIsThisPlease · 25/08/2021 22:29

@LesLavandes

One of these!

Move to a soft water area. I kid you not.

SprayedWithDettol · 26/08/2021 09:55

I always wipe the tap down after each use. I keep a small towel just for this. It stops limescale build up.

Greensmurf1 · 03/09/2021 18:51

Fill a spray bottle with white 1/3 vinegar, 2/3 water and a little washing up liquid. Vinegar helps reduce limescale.

Use vinegar and water with no soap to keep mirrors streak-free.

For limescale buildup I use the plastic end of an old boots cheapo toothbrush to scrape limescale off the flat bits of the tap and the bristled end for the narrow section of sink behind the taps. Also useful when you need to remove toothpaste stains from dark grouting. You can bulk buy vinegar on Amazon for a fairly low price.

LifesTooShortForYourNonsense · 03/09/2021 20:04

Vinegar, as above, no need for plastics and chemicals really. Can also recommend Iron and Velvet products, dissolve the pods in an old spray bottle- their daily shower cleaner keeps glass clear. Ocean Saver are similar, but I think Iron and Velvet are best.

Furball · 03/09/2021 20:14

I wipe my tap every day with an ecloth, yes its a pain in the arse but literally takes 20 seconds. I use Method Bathroom cleaner especially on my tap if they have a water mark on and a teeny drop just literally makes it vanish and brings them up like new. - it doesn't need it every day just when DH has splashed them and then they haven't been wiped.Hmm

AmelieLovesAutumn · 03/09/2021 20:37

Install a Harvey's Water Softner.

That's it!

Gyok · 03/09/2021 22:17

I find wine works really well. After three glasses I couldn’t give a fuck about the grout in the bathroom.

Fupoffyagrasshole · 03/09/2021 22:21

Keeping everything dry I find helps! We have a few old towels knocking around and we dry shower and tiles after each use and keep a cloth at the sink to dry taps after each use

OptimusWine · 04/09/2021 14:58

I use HG Bath Shine, I find it very effective.

EvilPea · 04/09/2021 15:00

Aldi or lidl bathroom cleaner in the blue spray bottle.
Nothing comes close

Dancingsmile · 04/09/2021 15:12

Just bought some Viakal on the back of this thread. Very soft water area here so didn't think it was needed. What a difference its made. Thanks for the recommendation.

SweatyBetty20 · 04/09/2021 22:01

When I trained as a chamber maid when I was a student we were taught to use the dirty towels to polish up the bath, sink, and taps before they went to laundry, so I still do that. I also use that stuff car valeters use on windscreens to clean my shower glass.
