Happy December ALL

Kids have been up since the crack of dawn pestering to open their calendars!

I have vague plans to go into town to pick up the parcels that never came yesterday!

Its pretty grim outside though.

Hope you all have a good Saturday

Morning TMH

No useful ideas re the bedwetting, Bianca I hink I would be insisting on a nigh nappy/ pyama pants of some kind tbh. I can cope with dd2 wetting her bed occasionally (she still does at 7) but if she was wetting mine too that would be too much for me.
Would a smaller second waterproof help? (I used to use some called kangas I think) No use here as dd2 moves around he bed too much but if he lies still and wets down it may help you.

SlightlyMadScreachingSirens · 02/12/2007 09:06

Arghhhh this is the first time I have managed to get on since I posted my "I'm Back message". MN was down 3 nightgs in a row, Friday night I got hooked into teh BC v MN thread and last night I spent the evening playing PS2 with DP. So I still don't have a clue whats going on in FLYland ...

Am off to the nearest city this morning, will leave at 9:30, car park opens at 10am, most of the shops open at 11:00....hopefully I will beat the traffic .

Did anyone go to the meet?

Jas · 02/12/2007 09:19

Me
Have fun at the shops.

Hello Everyone I'm back.

Was out all yesterday. DH and I took Ed to the preserved steam railway to go on the Santa special. The Santa thing and the railway was lovely. I went there when I was 7 or 8 and nothing had changed (other than things had got smaller or I was a lot smaller then. Ed sadly was not. His behaviour was shockingly bad, even DH couldn't control him. It was straight to bed when he got home. I realised we have probably spoilt him too much and ruined him, or maybe he's just a typical only child, can't think of any other answer too it tbh. It makes me sad as I know there is a really good kid in there, just yesterday his bad behaviour monster had got that one)

Sorry, I just needed to whinge a bit.

This morning I got up at quart to 7 and

DONE

Empty DW
Clear draining board
Put stuff away from DH's cooking last night
Shine sink
Put crockery and utensils away
S&S worktops
Load TD with drying washing from clothes horse and run

Take wet washing up and put on clothes horse
Sort out my eBay
Have breakfast
Vac front room
Vac fireplace and hearth
Sweep kitchen floor

Empty upstairs bins
Empty kitchen bins

Afternoon all. Attempting a return after a couple of months absence, while my house has cluttered up again. This has been due to lack of sleep mainly, as my 7.5 month old DS is still waking up 4 -5 times a night. Got to get back FLYing, he is crawling fast now and scoots about pulling himself up on everything, not a good scenario in a house of clutter and piled up hot spots. DP has said we have to get a cleaner, and now I am left with the mammoth task of sorting out the clutter in order for a cleaner to be able to even see the basic stuff that needs doing.

Am setting myself a new rule: nothing new comes through the front door unless something old goes out.

Wish me luck people, I am really going to need it. House resembles something from How Clean Is Your House (well OK maybe not that dirty as such, but in terms of the clutter and lack of everything having a home)

Rubber gloves at the ready!

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 02/12/2007 17:16

Hello again

DH had Ed for most of the afternoon so I could have a bit of respite. He's calmed down a bit but he's still frustrating. Ed just doesn't listen to grown up's/reason/commonsense. I suppose he's a typical 4 year old who's a bit of a bright spark, but why I can't have one of those kids who behaves...Grouchy is a poor parent tbh

I've
DONE

The ironing
Preped tea...I only get to scrub, peel and slice stuff these days
Emptied the compost caddy to the compost bin (all the snails, worms, slugs must be hibernating as nothing has dissapeared since I last chucked the teabags and peelings in.
Got Ed's uniform ready for tomorrow
Had a conversation about, life/universe/everything
Drunk what was left of the cider from tea (and very nice it was too)

To Do
Put that washing and ironing away
Have a bath
Dry Ed's coat and find his wellies (just in case GQT's weather forecast is accurate)
Find bus times for tomorrow (I'm on a training course for work and a hospital appointment for tomorrow)
Sleep

Have a good evening ladies

Neverenough · 02/12/2007 17:56

Hello all

It's a bit quiet here this weekend innit?
I've made a load of sausage rolls for the freezer, watched The Santa Clause 3 on DVD with DD2 and DD3, ate loads of Pringles ,and done nothing else really.

My Christmas preparation got off to such a good start and has been railroaded by our buying a houswe exchanged contracts last week!

So now I have a week to get sorted then off to NYC for 6 days for my birthday treat!

MUST get back to my routines....have a good evening all......off to iron before Cranford starts..oh and Strictly!

BiancaCastafiore · 02/12/2007 18:02

Hi Shoobie

Grouchy ((hugs)) we all have kids who are monsters some days, mine certainly are - dd is heading for an early night tonight she's so grumpy and moany and rude (reassure me everyone, we do all have children like that don't we?) You always sound as though you do a great job with Ed

We didn't make it into town. I had an anxiety attack so we stopped off at a local garden centre and actually wound up doing really well Christmas present wise there Just need to get MiL some Clarins stuff she likes and cover a couple of birthdays we have coming up then we're done (I hope)

Came home, had a nice lunch then watched a film together, a lovely lazy day I just hope dd keeps her cool this eve and goes to bed without an arguement, then it'll have been a pretty good day all-in-all

BiancaCastafiore · 02/12/2007 18:04

Neverenough x posts Wow NYC! Lucky you! And congrats on the house, hope it all goes smoothly for you

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 02/12/2007 20:59

Hello.
Been busy getting the decorations out of the loft today. Tree and ceiling bit are up.
Too windy to put the outside stuff up.

Saw our sandpit lid go flying over the hedge earlier! Had to go out in the rain to retrieve it! Found it 2 doors down in a neighbours drive way!!

DD's are both full of cold. Decided to cancel their contact. Didn't want to pass it on.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

(Off to catch up on my turns on scrabble!)

TheMincePiedMadHouse · 02/12/2007 21:04

evening all

Wow NYC - lucky you.

I have done the ironing and had a bath, but not much else today. well that is if you dont count taking my mum shopping and doing a roast for her.

Pah Mothers - she has really wond me up. mad rant alert warning*

She has been to the US with bro and family and brought back loads of stuff for the boys and DH (12 outfits each, 2 pairs of shoes, toys etc. 3 pairs of timberlands for DH< jeans, t-shits and loads more), but for me. I pair of sandles that were too tight for her and 2 tops that are far to small for me. I know I should be geateful and I am, but I am soooo Rant over

Anyway. I am going to buy some playmobile 123 stuff for the boys with the money MIL has given them and then try to sleep.

But, I am going with mum to find out the result of her blood test tomorrow and if she is possitive she goes in on 10th for her operation and I will have to be tested too

Jas · 02/12/2007 22:28

I hope for al your familys sake that your mum gets a negative result tomorrow TMH I will be thinking of you...
The gift thing is a bit thoughtless, too. I'm not surprised you are ranting. I think I would, too.

Grouchy I've just asked MIL to get dp Coast on dvd for Christmas. He really likes it too.
Everything you say abou Ed tells us you are a great parent, and he sounds to me o be very brih for 4. That is probably your problem- not a great curse in future life, but makes everything more challenging now! I did lol at you even considering the possibility of him listening to reason and common sense from an adult

*Neverenough - That isa very good reason for flling behind on things. When will you move? And NYC as well

Bianca - How was bedtime?

Tortoise I hope the dds are better soon. Will we get pics of the decorations again this year?

I should be doing my evening rouine. Well, I should be in bed, having already finished my evening routine, particularly as I got in after 2 this morning, but I'm sat here drinking tea and wine.

I'll try harder tomorrow. I promise.

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 02/12/2007 22:31

jas If you really want to see pics i will. Won't be much different to last year though! I want more outside lights to go around the tree/bush in the garden!

Jas · 02/12/2007 22:36
Grin
JingleyJen · 02/12/2007 22:41

Evening all.
Just checking in - not been around for a few days - the more I am on the computer the less I get done in the house!
MN is just so addictive before I know it I have been on for an hour and the usual stuff just hasn't got done.
So this weekend have cleaned out the fridge, steam cleaned the kitchen floor, written all christmas cards ready to post tomorrow, nearly caught up on last weeks backlog of ironing, cooked roast dinner - cleaned up from dinner, cleaned up study (my hotspot!)

DS1 got a great playmobile advent calendar and he is under instruction that if he is good for the day we can open open a box after tea - Father Christmas will come on Christmas eve and if all the boxes are empty Father Christmas will know he has been a good boy and will leave some pressies! Someone also told me that their child believes the motion sensor in the corner of the room is FC watching to see if they are being good!

Ramble over. Night for now - tomorrow is homeblessing here so there is a big to do list for the morning!

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 02/12/2007 22:41

I must go to bed! I expect will have one DD or the other waking me coughing during the night. Not sure if DD1 is going to school or not. Will see how she goes tonight.
See you tomorrow. I will be putting more decs up.
