I have turned it off now. Will it stop dripping?

We had this in the front room. It needs a valve replaced (my dad will do it soon). Dad tried using some waterproofing plumbers stuff (like a glue) but it didn't work. He turned it off at both ends to isolate it, but I don't understand exactly how he did that (sorry). I have a feeling he had to drain it as well before using the gluey stuff. Do you have anyone handy near you?

Do you have an isolation valve on that radiator? It looks like a round bit of the pipe with a slot for a screwdriver in? If so, turn it to stop the flow of water to the radiator, simply turning off the radiator may not do an awful lot except mean it is cold, not hot water peeing out on your floor!

Okay, is it still coming at at the same volume?

Wrap a towel around the joint where it is leaking and put an oven tray underneath for the time being. This will at least contain some of the problem.

Yes still dripping the same. Luckily not much. Just like a dripping tap really.
I have a bowl under it.
