Has anyone done this? Any hints or tips? Ours has only been down 3 years but as they are black they are showing a lot of limescale and white marks despite regular cleaning 🧼. I'm looking at painting them to see if it revives them I've seen Stacey Solomon paint hers black and they looked great BUT that was on the magic world of Instagram 🤣.

I once painted the wall tiles in the bathroom - they looked crap and peeled off within months!

If you read up on tile paint it does say that it should be used for areas that don't get too wet. I wanted to do this around my shower, but realised it won't work.

I've painted my bathroom floor and it looked good for about 3 days Wink

@LadyDanburysHat thank you. Yes I had read that but then found one that seemed to suggest it would be fine for wet areas - I'm highly skeptical 🤔 however.

@StarfishDish thank you. Yep I think this is a dead duck idea 🦆🤣. I'd be very unhappy if it only lasted 3 days I imagine the prep time and actual painting time would take longer! Time to look at other options 😩.

I put laminate floor tiles down in my bathroom and rued the day I ever did when I was left trying to remove the sticky adhesive residue left behind when I decided I no longer liked them.
Cue then painting the floor tiles...not an easy job and I could not walk on the floor for 24 hrs and then it took three coats. A few days ago I noticed a patch starting to peel! My advice is do not waste your time even thinking about it.

StarfishDish · 24/08/2021 20:16

@mommybear1 Just seen its actual tiles!! I painted lino Grin Apologies 🤣

mommybear1 · 24/08/2021 20:38

@StarfishDish ah ha! However given the feedback I'm not sure this is an option for me - pic of the offending tile section for anyone's input to get them lovely and shiny again Grin. They are textured which I don't think has helped the problem! Please excuse DS' toys 🤣.

@mommybear1 Is the grout meant to be white or black? We have white grout but a problem with black mould (very inconsiderate of it not to co-ordinate itself with my white grout!! Grin) and the HG mould spray brings it up a treat! Literally spray it, leave it and shower off Smile

mommybear1 · 24/08/2021 21:18

@StarfishDish yes the original grout was white but I'm unsure what colour to describe it now tbh Grin. I've not tried the HG I will investigate 😉. One of the lovely white patches you can see is from Kilnrock mould spray took the mould away brilliantly.... it just left its own marks 🙄. If only we could get this mould issues to colour coordinate with our grout the issues would be far less 🤣.
