Tell me about your hand held steam cleaner

I have some upholstered dining chairs and a sofa that could do with a god clean. Is it worth buying a hand held steamer? Any other ideas? Thanks.

Am also interested in this!

Is a steam cleaner ok or is a 'carpet cleaner with upholstery nozzle' the thing?

What happens to the muck with a steam cleaner?

I think it might depend on the fabric of your chairs. I have a polti vaporetti steam cleaner, which is good (but I don’t use it as much as I thought I would) but I know that if I used it one some of our upholstery it would leave watermarks- specifically our IKEA wingback chair. I ended up paying £80 for it to be cleaned by a professional (it was only about £120 new 🤦🏻‍♀️) it’s now kept covered by a throw!
