Can’t decide if I should get them and thought I would canvas opinions.

Oh now I’m wondering if I need them. And if so how often do you change them?

1940s · 12/08/2021 22:13

Good! And cosy and a good excuse to organise your drawers

WisestIsShe · 12/08/2021 22:15

Amazing in kitchen drawers and the cupboard under the sink. IKEA do a roll the perfect width.
Also great for the top of wall cupboards, never have to clean them just replace the paper.

ExpressDelivery · 12/08/2021 22:19

My mum, who was very thrifty and never bought anything unecessary (think yogurt pots for plant pots, washing out plastic bags to reuse, saving buttons and zips from old clothes) always had drawer liners. She obviously thought they were important, but what are they for?

BaronessBomburst · 12/08/2021 22:23

I love them! Especially scented ones. It stops you snagging your tights and best undies on the rough bits in wooden drawers. Except my drawers these days are mdf.

Hippopotas · 12/08/2021 22:30

How often do you change them and do scented ones keep your clothes smelling freshers for longer

Think it depends if you buy wipe clean ones(most are these days) then hardly ever and I’d rather wipe clean and add some bounce sheets for freshness I think. Amazon’ do some fab rolls of shelf/drawer liners that are wipe clean

thelegohooverer · 12/08/2021 23:26

I don’t think I could bring myself to buy them when I could wrestle with a roll of wallpaper instead. Hmm

RaininSummer · 12/08/2021 23:36

I used to get them as Christmas presents from relations year after year. Seemed pretty but pointless.

MeadowBrown · 12/08/2021 23:42

I use and like them but have old fashioned wood furniture.

My DD has IKEA Hemnes storage (not sure what material it is but white and smooth finish) and I wouldn't have thought they were necessary for that.

MotionActivatedDog · 12/08/2021 23:47

Oh I wish I had drawers just so i could have drawer liners! I remember my mum bought me scented ones when I was a child. They were a real treat.

xsquared · 13/08/2021 16:12

I nearly started a thread on this very topic so I'm pleased to see one has already been started!

I've been decluttering recently and also wondered about drawer liners and where I may get the from.
Our furniture are all old and I don't like putting tights and silk items on bare wood.

Where can I get them from please? Out Laura Ashley has recently shut down. Will spare wallpaper do?

Thank you.

Old newspapers are good for on top of kitchen wall cupboards, just replace them every now and then.

Oblomov21 · 13/08/2021 16:38

Scented? Like lavender?

viques · 13/08/2021 16:41

They are a total desperation no inspiration Christmas present aren’t they! A bit like bath cubes used to be.

Though to be honest I would rather have drawer liners or bath cubes than seasonal candles.

Fastforwardtospring · 13/08/2021 16:52

I keep a couple of unwrapped bars of soap in each drawer and in bed linen cupboard, my late DM and DGM used to do this, so I guess you could use wall paper to line and bars of soap for a nice smell…..

Akire · 13/08/2021 16:55

Do draw linning papers come in anything other than rose or lavender? I just have think about them at whossh nostrils full of grannies house.

The IKEA plastic/padded ones are good for the pan up side as provided some cushion.

xsquared · 14/08/2021 23:58

Thanks everyone. We have a bit of wallpaper left so I will try that first and put a drop of lavendar oil or two on it.

Igneo · 15/08/2021 00:07

Newspaper works well. Got some real vintage stuff here... great thing is that you know how long its been there!

BatshitCrazyWoman · 29/08/2021 07:27

There's a company that solely sells these, scented (all different scents) and wipe clean. Will have a think of the name of it.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 29/08/2021 07:29

www.simplydrawerliners.com/

If you want your drawers / wardrobe to smell lovely. Just buy some tumble dryer sheets and put them in them.

Now that's clever!
Redsquirrel5 · 30/08/2021 19:08

I have them as I have old pine drawers. Pretty, scented and easy to put in.
Other scents like lily of the valley, sweet pea etc. Lakeland, RHS, Amazon just google for lots of choice.
