Bathroom taps - non-corrosive?

I'm looking for recommendations for a bathroom cleaner that doesn't destroy taps!? My taps have become 'pitted' and look awful now. I'm going to get new taps fitted but don't want to make the same mistake with the new ones. If anyone could recommend something suitable, I'd be very grateful.

What were you using?

I stopped using barkeepers friend because I found it too harsh. I haven’t had a problem with anything else.

I only ever use white vinegar and dishsoap now for that reason. Spray the vinegar on and leave to work for 10 minutes max (because it is also corrosive), then wash with soapy water and rinse thoroughly. If you clean regularly (2 or 3 times a week) I wouldn't even use the vinegar at all.
