Fast freeze button - which way is ‘on’?

Feel silly asking this but… I’m not sure when fridge freezer fast freeze function is on or off atm in my rented flat. There aren’t any lights to indicate on/off. Instead the fast freeze button is located under the temperature control knob and is either pressed in or out (like a light switch) with one end marked 0 and the other 1

I am unsure which position the switch has to be in to ensure it is turned off, the switch has a 0(off) and l(on) but does the 0 have to be in or out to be off.

I’ve tried google to no avail. The instruction book just says;

To set "Fast Freeze" ON, press the switch to "I"
This switch activates intensive cooling to ensure that required
temperatures are reached quickly.
So when the fresh food is frozen return the switch to its OFF position, "0".

Our electricity bill has gone up a lot recently and wondered if this has something to do with me getting confused about whether I had turned the fast freeze on or off a few months ago (dim, I know!!).

Can anyone put me out my misery?

My logical instinct suggests that if you activate the switch, ie push the switch in, it's on. So the switch being out is 0, IYSWIM.
