Dp is out and I am totally clueless, theres a small pool of water of the floor and then at the top of the rad is a big bubble (where the paint has bubbled) and a rust line running down the radiator. The radiator is still working because its hot. What do i do? Whats happening?

get a screw driver and tighten it up...should stop the leak.. be careful

Sounds like a leak!

When we've had a leak I've wrapped a rag round it temporarily - then get a plumber in ASAP (ie next working day) - don't try and do anything to it yourself.

HTH

the leak looks like it is coming from the bubble

Oh, is it the bleed valve where the bubble is? Have you got one of those little keys you turn to let airlocks out? If so use that to tighten the valve.

For some reason I was assuming it was the joint at the bottom that was leaking.

Have phoned HA and someone will come tomorrow to fix it, its only dripping a tiny ammount so i've put a towel under there and i've turned it off so it doesnt burn the people fixing it and also so if it does burst in the night it doesnt shower boiling water everywhere. Think that about all i can do. Handled it better than i thought actually!

The bubble is just randon not anywhere near any pipes.

Get a plumber. This happened to me a couple of weeks ago when dh was in the US (although he wouldn't have a clue what to do !) and it needed a new valve.
We're covered on our British Gas homecare and they came and fixed it the next morning.
