Our Dyson V6 has died. Need to urgently get a new handheld vacuum. Any recommendations on which ones are good and which to avoid?
TIA

Well like you we have a dyson, they aren’t great are they! Had 2 cordless ones, can’t remember which model but top of the range. They are both rubbish and always breaking!!
I heard Shark is good?..

I’ve had 2 sharks and they were both shite.

Lentilbaby · 30/07/2021 09:24

Yes you're right! The battery lasted no time at all either.

I had the Dyson V6 and it was great. Hardly ever used it on the maximum setting as the normal one was enough for carpets and laminate.

A few weeks ago I got the the V7 Animal extra, as I couldn't justify paying more for the V8 or V10.

I was so disappointed with it, especially as it had a good review on 'Which'. The suction was very poor on the lower setting. So, I sent it back. Now on the look out for a better, reasonably priced cordless vacuum cleaner.

Our shark is shit x

I went from dyson to shark and have been disappointed. Mostly because it clogs a lot. Can't to afford to replace any time soon so stuck with it for a while.

Following this with huge interest as our Eufy deals with everything apart from stairs like a Dalek. And now our stairs are a different colour from the carpet at the top.

I live my anti hair wrap shark. I hate Dysons and tried a Hoover one and it was worse than a broom.

Ethelswith · 01/08/2021 14:45

I got a Shark cheap in the Amazon sale - the anti-hairwrap one.

Early days, but really pleased with it.

Though I do miss the power that every hoover lost when the eco ruling came in to force

I have the Dyson v10 animal and I can’t fault it. Short battery life on max power (5-10 mins) but perfectly adequate for deep cleaning stairs or one room. I usually have it on medium setting and can easily vacuum whole house on that. Easy to empty cylinder, change attachments and filter too 👍🏻

MIL has a vax something or other which cost under £200 and she’s very happy with it. No pets though.

I recommend the GTECH multi MK2. Good suction and battery life is also decent. It’s a small handheld one so you couldn’t do the entire house with one charge but definitely the stairs or a couple of rooms
