2nd hand item smells of smoke

I recently purchased a second hand fridge and it smells quite strongly of smoke inside and out.
Can anyone recommend something to get rid of it?

I’d clean with plenty bicarbonate of soda
Leave some inside to soak up the smell for a few days

Pack with clean newspaper on the inside and leave for at least 24 hours. On the outside, go at it with bicarb, vinegar, and maybe lemon juice.

Flash spray with bicarb is great stuff.

Thanks everyone for your tips. I cleaned it, put newspapers and bicarb in but that’s didn’t really make much difference so I tried the flash bicarb spray and I think that may have did the trick.
