Does anyone have hansgrohe taps or shower that can give advice on what products they use? i have looked at their instructions but not sure what counts as a citric based cleaner that is mild.

As one other mumsnet mentioned on another thread if the chrome comes off and you have used products that are too abrasive it invalidates the guarantee. I didn't realise hansgrohe were so strict on cleaning products until my builder mentioned it. thank god he did!

this is hansgrohe instructions
Step 1: It’s best to clean the surface of the hansgrohe tap with a soft moistened cotton cloth, which you can use to gently wipe away dirt, without damaging the tap. Do not use any metal sponges, brushes or micro-fibre cloths, as these are abrasive.
Step 2: Limescale residues tend to be deposited in corners and grooves. Use a mild citric acid-based cleaner. Do not spray the concentrate directly onto the tap. Spray it onto a cloth and then use that to wipe.

I give my hansgrohe shower a quick spray with Cif bathroom or Mr Muscle, wipe with a sponge followed by rinsing it off.The chrome is very much still intact 3 years and counting! It looks fine.
We have very soft water so limescale isn't a problem.

I do think manufacturers are ultra cautious with their instructions though, obviously, you need to also apply common sense.
