have you tried spraying hairspray on it?

camicazi · 27/11/2007 17:10

Nail polish remover?

Beelliesebub · 27/11/2007 17:48

I use hairspray on my leather sofa when ballpoint pen mysteriously appears on it.....

SpacePuppy · 27/11/2007 17:58

How about getting it off suede? We have inherited a lovely beige suede sofa which some delightful small child (not mine )has scrawled black biro over the cushions.

(very tautologous but I can't be bothered to edit, you know what I mean )

I can honestly say that I've never tried it on suede but if it were me I'd try in a really inconspicuous place to see how I got on. I've used it on shirts and stuff like that and it works fine. When you spray it on, it's really weird cos' you can see the ink lift....very strange.....

Amazing - never heard of using hairspray before! Does any sort work? I don't use it so would have to buy some specially.

Beelliesebub · 28/11/2007 14:19

I don't use hairspray either but I just got a cheap can to use on my sofa........ How sad am I? lol
Apparently, it's something in the chemicals that just lifts ball point pen......so that's a good enough reason to not use it on your hair to be honest.
This'll make you laugh...... I walked into the bathroom the other day to the sight of ds4 (15) spraying hairspray on his cheek (face) cos' someone at school had written on his head in biro..........

perpetualworrier · 28/11/2007 14:32

CIF cream will move biro from most surfaces. (wouldn't try it on suede tho')

dippydeedoo · 22/12/2007 18:44

i got a biro stain off my cream suede effect jacket using milk!!! dunno if its practical to use on furniture tho
