Very boring question about pizza sauce (tomato)

MyNameForToday1980 · 27/07/2021 23:33

I got tomato pizza sauce on my brand new pale mint green sweatshirt.

So far I have tried:

  • Washing up liquid, usual washing detergent, and 40' wash
  • Vanish (the bar soap one), usual washing detergent, and 40' wash (straight after the first wash).

It's still there, glaring at me.

Only tiny (1.5cm x 0.5cm approx) but it's in a prominent position (strangely as if I'd dribbled pizza down my front in a moment of extreme gluttony).

Is all hope lost?

I’ve heard that sunlight works on tomato stains but not tried it myself.

RoseMartha · 27/07/2021 23:42

Fresh air will get it out. Hang on a line if possible.

Definitely sunlight

Agree about the sunlight. Long and hard. 🌄

Ah ha, sunlight! Thank you.

Do you think it should be damp when I put it out in the sunshine?

I wish this had happened never last week when we had some sunshine. 🌞

Don't ask difficult questions. My household knowledge is now exhausted.

Have a look at the thread about things going wrong at a wedding. It should be in active conversations. Someone there said something about getting a stain out of a wedding dress. It's late now and I can't remember what but I think it might apply!

I’ve successfully removed a tomato stain by leaving it on a windowsill and forgetting about it for a week so you could try that if the garden feels too far away.
