Clingfilm dispenser recommendations please

I finally lost my shit with our clingfilm dispenser earlier and have chucked it in the bin.

It was a Bacofoil plastic one that did well for a while but was obviously never meant to last forever.

Can anyone recommend one that fits standard size rolls [lease (whatever size that is Confused as they all seem to vary).

Amazon have a Lakeland Wrapmaster one for £15.99 but it says it takes 30cm rolls and the one we've got is 36cm

I know it's a boring subject but anyone....?

Just keep it in a drawer and tear or cut with a knife when needed.

I think somebody somewhere decided to increase the length of cling film in supermarkets. I used to have a neat little dispenser from Lakeland which then became useless when the rolls were too long.

I tried leaving it in the box but the cardboard box broke and the cutter never really worked. I then gave up and bought a Wrapmaster. I can't remember if it came with a roll but the Lakeland rolls are quite long so I've not been in a situation where it's run out and the only rolls in the supermarket are too long. The Wrapmaster is good. It's an end to the problem where the film doesn't cut evenly.

My friends have a Leifheit:

It's also available at Amazon and includes kitchen roll and foil. It's slightly fiddlier to change a new cling film roll compared with the Wrapmaster in my opinion but they love it.

Now that you've chucked away the dispenser, it's a great time to consider options that reduce and reuse plastic. Reusable sandwich pockets, beeswax wraps, jars, lidded containers, etc.
Worth a try?

Get the Lakeland one, and buy their cling film refills. They are about £5/6 a time and last for endless months. I love mine.

So the Lakeland one only fits their rolls then? This is what I'm wary of , buying a dispenser and then it being a PITA to find a refill that fits.

I bought a couple of dispensers from Muji years ago but only foil fits in them which is a shame as they're really good.

@Guineapigbridge we use very little cling film TBH as we have alternatives like silicone bowl covers for things in the fridge, recycle foil if we use it etc but sometimes it's the only thing for the job.

Honestly the Lakeland one, and their film, are great. You can easily buy the refills in store, or from Amazon. I know this must sound like I'm their PR, I'm really not, just find it so handy. Smile

It's not just Lakeland who do 30mm cling film. There's Wilko too and Amazon, as DiorforBreakfast (good name) says. It's just that you can't pick up just any old packet.
